App design and iOS development
I founded, conceived, designed and coded from scratch VOCA+ ©, a vocabulary reference iOS app, powered by the Oxford Languages API.
Driven by a willingness to help learners grow their vocabulary better & faster, I wrote the app’s technical specifications, crafted its visual identity, designed its user interface and wireframes.
I also created the app’s icon, website, video demo and brand illustrations.
Technologies used: Swift, XCode, UIKit, Interface Builder, SQLite

In doing so, I took what started off as my final project for Harvard’s CS50 Introduction to Computer Science course and transformed it first into a “minimum viable product” then all the way into a “minimum lovable product” ready for release on the App Store.
As the word of advice in the preface of the coding book below states, “learning to program is hard. And building apps is hard” but... “Never give up” is my motto!

In the process, I taught myself, from the ground up, about the different steps involved in creating an app: from ideation to beta testing, going through the feedback loop, optimising the user experience, refactoring my code and refining the product/market fit and growth strategy.
This led me to attend Apple’s WWDC’21, to be selected for 3 1-1 Apple Developer Labs and to be selected as a STEM Challenger at the first Future is Now Summit, Brussels, BE.
In the words of one of my app’s beta testers:
